The Tanjung Rhu Beach is situated North of Langkawi near the Mangroves (where you can go for a kayak tour) and is one of the most famous white sand beach of the Islands. With nice weather, you can see the coasts from Thailand from the beach.

For your holiday, you can book directly an hotel on that beach like the Tanjung Rhu Resort or the Four Seasons Resort. Both are really nice hotels with wellness, spa, sport, ... However, our choice was the Pelangi Beach Resort on the South of the main island (with more tradition style and flair).
The Pelangi Beach resort is one of the best resort in Langkawi. Situated directly on the Pantai Cenang beach, it offers all you can dream from during your holiday (wellness, spa, white sand beach, .....).

Nice restaurant are directly in the resort but you will find a small shopping center not too far from the hotel. Travelling around in Langkawi is quite easy. We would recommend to go from some day tour to discover the island: Mangrove Kayak Tour, Tanjung Rhu Beach ,...
If you are looking for a nice day tour in Langkawi, we would recommend to go for a kayak tour. Situated on the North of Langkawi near the well-know Tanjung Rhu beach, the mangrove offers a nice environment for a wonderful day. The Mangrove are about 30-45 min drive from the hotels on the South of the island (like the Pelangi Beach Resort)

The kayak tour usually lasts the full day and can be combined with a nice lunch on a fisher farm. Beside the mangroves, some caves can be visited if local people (guide) is with you
If you are staying around Khao Lak or Phuket, we would recommend to go to the Phang Nga Bay for a kayak tour. This can be organised from your hotel or from local tour agents.
It takes about 1 hour 30 mins from Khao Lak and about 30 min from Phuket to reach first by road the ferry terminal. From there, you will go with ferry to the Phang Nga Bay, where you will start a few kayak tours: mangrove, caves, .... . If you are lucky, you will see a few monkeys say hello to the tourists ....
Usually the tour takes the full day and a luch will be served on the boat. At the end of the day, we had the opportunity to relax on the beach before going back to our hotel in Khao Lak .
Khao Lak in the South of Thailand is well known for its white sand beach and for nice holiday.
Located about 1 hour drive North of Phuket, Khao Lak is perfect if you want to relax far away from the chaos of bigger touristic places.

Situated about 10 km North of the city, Le Meridien Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort is probably one of the best place to stay in Khao Lak.
This hotel is perfect if you want to spend some quite holiday in the South of Thailand. However, you will be desappointed if you are looking for more action as you will need to get a car or a bike to go to the city. So no real shopping opportunities or night life around but a nice place to relax or to spend your Honey Moon ....
Le Meridien has its own white sand beach to relax or for long walks along the sea. You will find some restaurants with a nice atmosphere on both side of the resort for a cool drink during the day or for a good lunch or dinner.
Beside to that, Le Meridien Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort offers all comfort you will need during your holiday: nice garden, several restaurants, fitness, possibilily to do some days trips ( jungle day tour , city, kayak at Phang Nga bay , ....)
